This past week I got a preemptive notice about a Mazda Miata for sale on my Facebook page. Well-regarded autocrosser Ricky, President of SASCA, was letting me know in advance that he was about to put up his 1999 Mazda Miata Sport Limited Edition. Here are the details…
I’m getting ready to put my Miata up for sale and I know you had mentioned a while back that you were interested in getting one. My car is a ’99 Sport (fairly rare, since they only made ~1500 of them) and has 87k miles on the chassis. The engine has ~60-65k miles on it. Everything works on it, including the A/C, and has been a solid running car for the 2 or so years I’ve had it. I’m looking to get about $6500 for it. I also have spare wheels (super lightweight SSR Competition wheels) and would be willing to let those go for an additional amount with the car.
Let me know if you’d be interested in it. I took top PAX at the SASCA event this past weekend with it. 🙂
Just to give you a little info on the car….
It has a Racing Beat front sway bar, Koni Sport adjustable shocks (plus the original set of Bilsteins, I will include with it), a catback exhaust, and Hawk HP+ brake pads all the way around.
The Sport model comes with slightly stiffer springs than the normal Miatas, it comes with a limited-slip differential and the front chin spoiler and rear deck lid spoiler. My car has A/C as an option.
The top is in great condition on my car — no tears or problems with it. The front chin spoiler is scratched up a little bit (I bought it that way), but otherwise the car is in really clean condition.
I really would like to get rid of the car in the next 3 weeks or so. I’ll probably be posting it up for real on the lists and SASCA forum in the next couple of days.
These are the optional Hoosier tires/light, competition rims that Ricky would consider adding to the package for $700. The Hoosiers have barely 6 autocross events on them, otherwise this car is trailered to & from events.
Here’s the engine bay, everything pretty much is standard in here.
Here are shots from Ricky’s run at the SPOKES autocross, yesterday…
If interested, you can respond to Ricky at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Racing Ready is flattered to have been one of the first to be notified of this nicely prepared Miata for sale. Unfortunately, timing dictates that I will have to pass. Otherwise, I’d seriously take this into consideration!
