Shelby GT Gets It On In Autocross
When I drove onto the SPOKES 2009 Autocross #5 at San Marcos Municipal Airport, I met Pete. He was manning the signing liability waiver/wristband station duties, verifying that all signed the insurance waiver & got a wrist band. I explained who I was & what I was doing there (arriving late & in full blogger/observer mode).
While signing my life away, we chatted about how this was his first event & that he was looking forward to going out on course to have fun, as well as to learn. This was his first event & he was excited to autocross his Limited Edition 2007 Ford Shelby GT. This Limited Edition version is #4514.
Later I was able to visit Pete & his very clean & very well sorted out Shelby GT. This was a nice looking & performing car. It is bone stock, with only some additional air in the tires.
Like most novice (& some not so) drivers, Pete had a bit of a challenge learning to get through all the gates & slaloms without at least 1 DNF (did not finish). By the end of the event he acquitted himself quit well & plans on attending future autocross events.
Racing Ready continues to enjoy chronicling the initiation of novice autocross participants!
