SPOKES Pres Sets TTOD In His FP Datsun Z

SPOKES (Texas SPOKES Sports Car Club) is the autocross club in Austin, TX.  They are a serious bunch of competitive guys & gals, with many National SCCA SoloII/Autocross Champions among them.  Their President, Rick, has been a great influence to help the club to stay the course.  He also competes at a high level.

Besides competing within the monthly, local autocrosses, Rick participates in regional divisionals.  These force you to compete at a higher level as the competition is usually the cream (the most dedicated & serious autocross competitors) from different local clubs around the state, & even from out of state.

At a recent divisional event, Rick pushed & succeeded in winning his class, F Prepared Datsun.  Here’s a video to appreciate his technique and the long, nicely laid out course he had to traverse.

In other SPOKES news about Rick, he is selling his nicely used 2007 Nissan 350Z.  He bought it about a year ago when he had to let go of his cherry 199x BMW.  Well, actually, it was no longer cherry.  It had suffered a great amount of hail damage and it was simply time to let it go.  This time, the 350Z is being sold due to the necessity of wanting to have more than 2 seats.  I heard a rumor he’s getting a 4-door grocery getter, otherwise known as a Subaru WRX STi…

A new autocross day dawning on Rick's 2007 Nissan 350Z...

…I’d post up the craigslist listing, but it has already been taken down – I guess Rick got it sold already!

Racing Ready is pretty sure the new owner is within the South/Central Texas motorsports enthusiasts community.  Maybe we’ll see it at autocross again…
